October 2018 Races in Minnesota
Each year, we anxiously await the first weekend of October for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and this year is no different. Try your hand at one of the many events over marathon weekend including the TC 5K, TC 10K, Toddler Trot and other family events on Saturday, October 6 or the TC 10 Mile or Marathon on Sunday, October 7. (Psst….if you’re not racing, try spectating this year!)

Just a few weeks later, the Mankato Marathon takes place on October 21st and offers the BOLDEST race experience around. The weekend of events includes a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, Full Marathon and several family-friendly distances such as the Diaper Dash, Kids K, and BOLD walk, a 0.6-mile walk created for “anyone who may not be able to participate in a more traditional race distance due to physical inactivity, chronic disease, or disease”. There really is something for everyone at the Mankato Marathon!

Even if you’re not preparing for a fall marathon, there are plenty of races to choose from in October. Find fun runs, competitive races, and scary, Halloween-themed events such as the Minneapolis Halloween Half on October 27th, perfect for runners of all abilities.

Unleash the SHE St. Paul 5K, 10K and Support the SHE 5K walk is taking place Sunday, October 14th, in St. Paul Minnesota. Over 1,000 women will show their support by running and walking to alter the impact of ovarian cancer.
Try something new this year and check out the Midwest’s BOLDEST race, the Mankato Marathon. The whole family can take part in the fun with distances such as the diaper dash and the Pork Power 5K or the Bold Walk.
Have a fun and healthy Halloween at the Minneapolis Halloween Half, 10K, or 5K on October 27th! Come for the races and stay for the costume contest, live music, and a fantastic post-race party!
