The Great Inflatable Race: Serious Summer Fun!
These days there are all sorts of races for runners and non-runners alike. There’s the standard road race for runners seeking to challenge the clock, the obstacle course race for people seeking to challenge their physical strength, and then there is the inflatable obstacle course race, a unique kind of event that puts fun to the test!
Inspired by the large inflatable bouncy houses and castles of outdoor parties, organizers of the Great Inflatable Race series decided to bring the fun to runners (and non-runners) in a seriously fun summer event.
The Great Inflatable What?
What started as an event in Salt Lake City has grown nationally and can now be found in 23 cities with even more on the way. Sick of the standard road race fanfare? This is the event for you!
Organizers describe the event as
…a fun run with inflatable obstacles spread throughout the running course. Feel like [a] kid again as you jump, dive and bounce on our custom-designed inflatables.
The Great Inflatable Race offers a course that roughly covers a 5K, includes up to 10 inflatable obstacles, and offers a serious amount of fun. Inflatable obstacles vary from giant inflatable slides to bouncy castles to ball pits. Participants are untimed and able to repeat obstacles until their hearts are content (though most people take about 45 minutes to complete the course.)
This is a unique, fun, and family-friendly event that welcomes people of all abilities and ages. In fact, 30% of participants last year were under the age of 18! (Note ages 4+ are required to register. Children 3 and under may participate in the race free of charge after having a parent or guardian sign the participant waiver.)
“The Great Inflatable Race is a fantastic event for everyone. People can run and participate without having a lot of experience, preparation, or training,” says Dan Adams, business developer and marketing strategist for the Great Inflatable Race.
The Great Inflatable Details
The Great Inflatable Race is coming to the Twin Cities area on Saturday, July 15th at the Running Aces Casino & Racetrack. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. and features a full day of family fun.
All participants receive a race T-shirt, wristband, temporary tattoo and race medal! Plus, if you purchase a VIP pass, you’ll also receive a sweatband, fanny pack and admission to the Inflatable Village.
The Great Inflatable Course
This one-of-a-kind race course takes place on the grounds of the Running Aces Casino and Racetrack in Columbus, Minnesota and features incredibly fun inflatable obstacles that have been specifically made for the event. Run, jump, and bounce through obstacles such as the Castle of Doom, a giant inflatable castle with “oil pits,” mighty stairs, and a giant green slide; The Ball Pit, a super-sized inflatable pit with giant swinging inflatable balls; the Train Wreck, a series of inflatable balance beams and platforms on top of a giant inflatable train, and many more!
Race organizers have put years into making this race as fun, crazy and bouncy as possible. It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult, a kid, fast, slow, young or old—the Great Inflatable Race is for everyone!
More Inflatable Fun
Giant inflatable obstacle courses aren’t the only fun to be had at the Great Inflatable Race. After completing the event, stick around for snacks, refreshments, and more inflatable fun at the Inflatable Village. The Inflatable Village contains additional inflatables that are separate from the race course. Everyone is welcome to the Inflatable Village to check out vendor booths, charity partners, and more. (Psst….to get bouncing you will need a VIP Race Ticket or passes to the Inflatable Village from the registration tent for $15.)
