Becoming a stronger runner is something everyone can do. From elites to beginners, or those just happy to be out there - running gives us an opportunity to push ourselves faster or farther than we thought possible. It’s about a lifestyle of taking care of our physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.

Living a happier life is simply doing what you love to do with people you care about for causes that make an impact in the world. It’s about living with purpose and surrounding yourself with those who support that.
Happier looks different for everyone, but we believe, it starts by running. Taking that first step out the door or the last of a 26.2 mile journey - running provides a platform for building confidence that becomes the foundation of of a happier, more fulfilled life.
We’re Here to Help You do That!
At Minneapolis Running, we want you to achieve whatever goals you have. We want to help you discover new races to run, and groups to train with. We want to share inspiring stories from fellow Minnesotans about beating the odds, or beating a clock. We want to give you practical advice on treating an injury, increasing your pace, or buying gear. We want you to live better by eating healthier, sleeping more and most importantly, having crazy amounts of fun.
We are Minnesotans
Minnesotans are quirky. We like to fish and eat hot dish, and run in a place where events get canceled due to extreme heat and extreme cold. It is our goal to motivate you through it all by sharing resources you need and ways to connect with other athletes.
What You Can Expect from Us
We post new, original content 3 - 5 times a week. We also host occasional live running chats, monthly motivation challenges, and meet-ups. We believe the best version of you requires a whole lot of focus. We enjoy passing on relevant content from others if we think it’ll help you focus on become stronger and happier.

Who is Minneapolis Running?

Minneapolis Running was started by Nathan Freeburg in May of 2012. He quickly recruited others to join his quest to build the best local running site ever. Dr. Ty, Sarah, Jared, Joseph, Jennifer, Michele and 17 other beginner to elite runners contribute the content found here. We’re just average folks who love running, Minneapolis, and the intersection of life in the city. After all, cities generate the best of all of us - and we’re lucky to boast at have the most beautiful urban marathon in America.
